The Ufi Charitable Trust (UCT) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, set up in 1998 by the Government to use new technology to transform the delivery of learning and skills.

On the 5th October 2011, the UCT announced the sale of Ufi Limited and the learndirect brand to private equity house LDC. Prior to the sale, UCT owned and oversaw the management of Ufi Limited.

Our mission

The UCT aims to achieve a step change in adult learning and employability for all in the UK, through the adoption of 21st century technologies.

The UCT will use proceeds from the sale of Ufi Limited and the learndirect brand to create an endowment fund to be spent in accordance with achieving its mission.

The Trustees are looking forward to discussing its future plans with those with an interest in the FE and skills sector in the UK.
